EPOS Admin Users

An EPOS Admin user has the EPOS Admin permission enabled in the [ System Data | Users | User Permissions ] dialog.
This permission provides access to additional EPOS functions that are not available to standard EPOS users.

How to Enable EPOS Admin Access

To grant a user EPOS Admin permissions:
  1. Open [ System Data | Users ].
  2. Edit the required user account.
  3. Open the User Permissions tab.
  4. Tick the EPOS Admin checkbox.
  5. Save your changes.

EPOS Admin Permissions

Users with the EPOS Admin permission can perform the following actions.

Run the EPOS End-of-Day Process

EPOS Admin users can run the EPOS End-of-Day process.
Note: Users with full Admin User permissions can also perform this function.

Open the Cash Drawer

EPOS Admin users can manually open the cash drawer from the EPOS Management Panel.

Process Refunds

EPOS Admin users can process refunds for eligible transactions.

Apply Percentage Discounts

EPOS Admin users can apply a percentage discount to the total value of an order.

Apply Monetary Discounts

EPOS Admin users can apply a fixed monetary discount to an order.

Process Exchanges

EPOS Admin users can process product exchanges through the EPOS system.

Additional Information

  • EPOS Admin permissions are designed for supervisors, managers and authorised staff who require access to additional EPOS controls.
  • These permissions can be granted independently of full system administrator access.
  • Consider carefully who is given EPOS Admin permissions, as the role allows users to perform actions that can affect sales transactions, refunds and cash handling.
  • User permissions should be reviewed regularly to ensure access remains appropriate for each role.
