How To: Populate a Website with Stock Items

Website Categories setup and maintenance is an Advanced User feature.
Please speak to your website developers before using this feature.

Configuring and using Web Categories requires HQ User permission.

To add stock to the website categories that have previously been created:[1]

  1. Open a Web Configuration screen (show me how).
  2. Select the website from the Website Selection.
  3. Tick the 'Order Alphabetically' checkbox.
  4. Click on the Go button.
  5. Click on the BtnWCExpandX.jpg button so you can view the categories within the website.
  6. Focus on the category you wish to add stock to.
  7. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  8. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button above the stock item grid on the right.
  9. In the Stock Lookup select the stock items and double-click to add them to the category.[2].
    Notes:
    1. The normal Stock Lookup filters are available.
    2. Multiple stock items can be green-selected and added at the same time.
    3. To add the parent SCS stock item un-tick the SCS drilldown checkbox at the bottom of the Stock Lookup, this will display the parent stock items which can then be added by double-clicking on them.
  10. Update the Order column as appropriate, it determines the specific order within each section (Optional).
  11. Continue to add stock items to the different categories as required.[3] The stock items can then be exported to your company website.[4]
  12. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.

Notes:

  1. ? A Web Category must exist before stock can be added to it (see How To: Create a Website using Web Categories).
  2. ? If you wish to add a different description for the stock items see How To: Add a Description for a Stock Item in a Website and How To: Add a Description for a Stock Item in a Category
  3. ? If you added stock items in error see How To: Delete a Stock Item from a Category.
  4. ? If you do not wish to export a stock item to the website tick the relevant Hide checkbox.
