Introduction

A Long Description allows you to store detailed product information against a stock item. This information is commonly used for telesales, websites and e-commerce integrations where additional product details are required.

The Long Description field supports HTML, allowing you to format content such as headings, paragraphs, bullet points and links.

Add a Long Description

  1. Open a Stock screen.
  2. Load the required stock item.
  3. Open the [ Stock | Detail | Telesales / Internet | Primary ] tab.
  4. Press Alt+E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
  5. Enter the required content into the Long Description field.
    Note: The Long Description field supports HTML formatting. To access the HTML editor, right-click within the Long Description field and select View / Edit HTML... from the context menu.
  6. Press Ctrl+S or click Save.

Tips

  • Use clear headings and short paragraphs to improve readability.
  • Include key product features and benefits.
  • Use bullet points for specifications or important information.
  • Preview any HTML formatting to ensure it displays correctly.

Additional Information

The Long Description is designed for more detailed product information than can be stored within the standard stock description field.
Depending on your system configuration and integrations, this information may be displayed in telesales screens, websites, online marketplaces or other customer-facing channels.
