Introduction

You can configure Khaos Control to automatically use a specific courier service for customers belonging to a particular Company Class.
This is useful when certain customer groups always require the same delivery method. For example:
  • Customers within a local delivery area may always be delivered using your own vehicle.
  • Trade customers may use a dedicated courier service.
  • Collection customers may use a courier service called Customer's Own Transport to indicate that they arrange collection themselves.
The courier service is assigned using Courier Banding rules and will be applied automatically whenever the rule conditions are met.

Steps

  1. Open a System Data screen.
  2. Open [ Sales Order Processing | Courier Banding ].
  3. Press Alt + E or click the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  4. Press F3 or click the Add button to create a new courier banding rule.
  5. Enter the required courier banding criteria. For guidance, see Creating Courier Bands.
  6. In the Company Class column, press F4 and select the Company Class that should trigger the courier rule.
  7. Complete any remaining courier banding conditions as required.
  8. Press Ctrl + S or click the Save button to save the courier banding rule.

Example Uses

Local Deliveries

If customers within a specific Company Class are always delivered using your own vehicle, create a courier banding rule that:
  • Uses the appropriate Company Class.
  • Assigns your internal delivery service.
  • Applies any additional criteria such as delivery postcode or mileage restrictions.

Customer Collection

If a customer arranges their own transport, you can create a courier service such as Customer's Own Transport and assign it to the relevant Company Class using Courier Banding.
This ensures sales orders are processed correctly without assigning a standard courier service.

Important Note

If no Company Class is selected in the courier banding rule, the rule will apply to all Company Classes, provided all other conditions are met.
For this reason, it is important to review both the conditions and priority of your courier banding rules to ensure the correct service is selected.

Additional Information

  • Company Class is only one of the conditions available within Courier Banding.
  • A courier banding rule is only applied when all configured conditions are met.
  • Rule priority determines the order in which courier banding rules are evaluated.
  • More specific rules should generally be given a higher priority than broader rules.
