How To: Create New Labels Based on the Stock Default Label

Stock label templates allow you to create a standard label layout that can be used automatically when printing stock labels. This removes the need for users to select a label layout each time labels are printed.
You can create a new stock label template based on Khaos Control's default stock label settings and then customise it to suit your requirements.
Notes
- If you want users to choose from multiple stock label layouts when printing, you must first rename the existing STOCK LABELS template. For guidance, see How To: Rename Existing Labels.
- Stock labels cannot be printed on the Eltron/Zebra LP 2844 printer. This printer requires Zebra Programming Language (ZPL II) commands to position text and graphics correctly.
- Stock labels can also be created using Basic Reports, which provide additional layout and formatting options. See How To: Create Basic Report Stock Labels for more information.
Create a New Stock Label Template
Step 1: Open the Label Setup Screen
Open the Label Setup screen.
If you're unsure how to access it, see How To: Load the Label Setup Screen.
Step 2: Load Existing Labels
In the [Label Setup | List] screen, click Go to display the available label templates.
Important: If you want users to choose between different stock label templates when printing, rename the existing STOCK LABELS template before creating additional layouts. See How To: Rename Existing Labels.
Step 3: Create a New Label
Press Ctrl + N or click New to create a new label template.
Step 4: Enter a Description
In the [Label Setup | Detail] screen, enter a description in the Description field.
This description is displayed to users when they are selecting a label template.
Step 5: Apply the Default Stock Label Settings
Click the Default Stock Labels Values button.
This automatically populates the template with the standard stock label settings:

Step 6: Customise the Label Layout
Amend the template as required.
For example, you can:
- Change the font and text size.
- Add an image or logo.
- Modify label positioning.
- Adjust the information displayed on the label.

Step 7: Save the Template
Press Ctrl + S or click Save to store the new label template.
Additional Information
Once saved, the new stock label template can be used when printing stock labels.
If only one stock label template exists with the name STOCK LABELS, Khaos Control will use it automatically. If multiple stock label templates are available, users can select the required layout when printing labels.
