How To: Edit a Profile

Introduction
User Profiles allow you to control which screens, tabs, commands and features are available to different groups of users within Khaos Control.
Using profiles helps ensure users only have access to the areas of the system they need, making navigation simpler and helping to maintain security.
Steps
- Open a System Data screen.
- Double-click [ Others | Users ].
- Right-click anywhere in the grid and select Define Profiles.
- When prompted, select Yes to continue.
- In the Profile Management dialog, select the profile you want to update.
- Open the [ Screens ] tab.
- Drag and drop the required screens from the Available Windows grid into the Enabled Windows grid.
- For each enabled screen, untick any Visible Tabs and Visible Detail Tabs that should not be available to users assigned to the profile.
- Open the [ Command Window ] tab and tick the command window options required for the profile.
- Open the [ Invoice Mgr ] tab and select the invoice stages that should be available.
- Open the [ CRM Types ] tab and tick any CRM types that should be blocked for users assigned to the profile.
- Select OK to save your changes.
Additional Information
User profiles can be used to:
- Limit access to specific screens.
- Hide tabs and detail tabs that are not relevant to a user's role.
- Control access to Command Window functions.
- Restrict access to Invoice Manager stages.
- Block selected CRM types.
Notes
- Changes made to a profile apply to all users assigned to that profile.
- Users with permission to edit users can update their own user details.
- A user cannot change their own username, even if they have permission to edit user records.
