How To: Remind the user of a bulk buy discount

Telesales Prompts can be used to remind users about special pricing arrangements when specific products are added to a sales order.
This is particularly useful where customer classifications, such as Trade customers, receive quantity-based discounts or price breaks that sales staff should actively mention during the sales process.

Create a Product-Based Telesales Prompt

  1. Open a Promotion screen (show me how).
  2. Open the [Telesales Rules] tab.
  3. Press Ctrl + N or click New.
  4. Enter a title for the prompt in the Short Description field.
  5. Enter the message you want users to see in the Long Description field.
    Example:
Please remind Trade customers that if they order Item X they qualify for the following price break: order 10 or more and receive a 5% discount.
  6. Select the appropriate customer classification from the Customer Class drop-down list, for example Trade.
  7. Select the Trigger Items tab.
  8. Press F3 or click Add.
  9. Select the stock item that has the price break configured for the chosen customer class.
  10. Configure any additional options as required.
  11. Press Ctrl + S or click Save to save the telesales prompt.

When the selected stock item is added to a sales order for a customer belonging to the specified customer classification, the telesales prompt will be displayed.
This allows staff to inform customers about available quantity discounts, pricing incentives or special offers before completing the order.
