How To: Setup Debt Chasing

Before setting up Debt Chase Actions, you should take advice from your business' accountant and/or solicitor on the specific process to follow. The following instructions include an example process that uses three emails:

  1. Open a System Data screen (show me how).
  2. Open the [ Accounts | Debt Chase Actions ] screen.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Press F3 or click the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right to add a new item.
    Note: a new entry needs to be created for each debt stage action you require.
  5. Enter the following information:
    • Title: for example these could be:
      • email1 (this is your "Overdue Account" email)
      • email2 (this is your "Final Reminder" email)
      • email3 (this is your "email Before Action")
      • Court Action
    • Min Period: this is in days.
      Note: Do not enter any information in the Next Stage column.
  6. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.
  7. Click back on the [ List ] tab.
  8. Re-open the [ System Data | Accounts | Debt Chase Actions ] screen. The F4 button popup in the Next Stage column will now be populated.
  9. In the 'Next Stage' column for your debt stage actions press F4 to add the next stage you wish the debt stage to go if the debt has not been resolved, for example:
    • Letter 1 - Next Stage "Final Reminder" email
    • Letter 2 - Next Stage "email Before Action"
    • Letter 3 - Next Stage Court Action
    • Court Action
  10. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.
