Consignments is not enabled by default.
Training must be completed before using the consignments functionality.
Please email Development for more information.
Note: there will be additional costs involved if this option is enabled.

It is possible to amortise all of the costs that have been entered against the consignment from the default costs and SP Ledger items that have been associated with the Consignment, see How To: Consignments - Amortisation of Costs.

  1. Open a Consignment screen (show me how).
  2. Use the search filters to locate the Consignment to be edited.
  3. Double-click on the Consignment and click on the [ Consignments | Detail | Costs ] tab.
  4. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  5. Click on the BtnAmortise.jpg button to the left of the Stock Types grid.
  6. Click Yes in the Confirm popup.
  7. Click Yes in the Warning popup, the system will use the values from the two above grids and amortise them across the Level 2 Stock Types.
  8. The proportion percentage can be updated if required but must always total 100%.
  9. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.
  10. To populate the lower grid with the new stock values click on the BtnBlackDown.jpg button to the left of the bottom grid.

The method of updating the stock depends on the option that is enabled on your system. This can either be the stock overheads or the stock value, for more information see Updating stock with amortised values.

Manually update the Stock Value

If you wish to update the stock value manually:

  1. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  2. Untick the Auto-Calculate checkbox, the SkVal (New) column is now editable.
  3. Make the changes.
  4. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save once you have finished.

Impact

The stock overheads or stock value for the stock items on the Consignment will be updated. The invoice value will be proportionally spread across the Level 2 Stock Types, then this will be proportionally spread across the individual items within the stock type and then multiplied by quantity.

Note: amortising consignments costs against the stock value of the items booked in against the consignment will only work if the Stock Value Calculation Method is set to Average.

Note: applying the amortised costs against the stock overheads will not work on stock items with a zero stock value.
