How To: Deleting Address

WARNING: It is not possible to delete a customer address if it is already being used on the system. Therefore, this should only be applied to newly created addresses that have NOT been used on the system.

If the address is no longer applicable to the company then it should be made inactive, see How To: Mark Address Active or Inactive.

It is only possible to delete addresses from customers/companies with multiple addresses. All customers must have at least 1 address against their record.

  1. Open a Customer screen (show me how).
  2. Load the required customer record.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Open the [ Customer | Detail | Address ] tab.
  5. You will first need to delete all contacts associated with the address to be deleted. To do this follow the instructions detailed in How to delete a contact.
  6. Select the delivery address to be deleted from the list of customer addresses in the top right section of the screen.
  7. Click on the the DELETE ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right and overlaid with a red cross. button in the upper address button bar to delete the address.
  8. Click 'Yes' to the confirmation prompt.
  9. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save the record.
