How to: Unassign stock from Warehouse using the Options button

Warehouse Location Control is an Advanced User feature. It contains complex, resource-intensive functionality and a decision to begin using it should therefore not be taken lightly.

The stock items are usassigned from a stock location for several reasons including:

• So that a new item can be stored there.
• The item is discontinued.
• The warehouse is being reorganised.
• The location was added in error and is being deleted.

Before any stock items can be unassigned from a location their stock level must be zero. By using the Options button this can be done all in one go.

1. Open a Warehouse screen (show me how).
2. Click on the button to open the Location Move dialog.
3. Select the warehouse where the stock will be moved from using the 'Warehouse From' dropdown box in the upper grid.
4. Focus on Stock Item at the Location you wish to move.
5. Select the warehouse where the stock will be moved to using the 'Warehouse To' dropdown box in the lower grid.
6. Focus on Stock Item at the Location you wish the stock item to be moved to.
7. Click on the button in the Group area, and tick the 'From Location Unassign' checkbox making sure no other boxes are ticked.
8. Click OK.
9. Press F4 or focus in the Quantity box in the bottom left hand corner.
10. Enter the quantity to move i.e. the quantity currently in the location
11. Press F8 or click the button.
12. Click Yes, to creating a new group.
13. Add description (ie. Unassign stock from A02C).
14. Click button.
15. Click Yes, to process group now.
