Introduction
Khaos Control includes two default label templates that are used automatically when printing labels. Because these default templates are selected without prompting the user, they provide a quick and consistent way to print commonly used labels.
If you would like users to choose from multiple label layouts when printing, you can create additional label templates. However, some changes to the default templates will be required first.
Default Label Templates
Khaos Control includes the following default label templates:
CUSTOMER LABELS
The CUSTOMER LABELS template is used when printing customer address labels from areas such as catalogue requests and customer-related processes.

The STOCK LABELS template is used when printing stock item labels from screens such as Stock | List.

Creating Multiple Label Templates
By default, Khaos Control automatically uses the templates named CUSTOMER LABELS and STOCK LABELS whenever labels are printed.
If you want users to choose from a selection of label layouts when printing, you must first rename these default templates.
Once the default templates have been renamed, you can create additional label designs that suit different requirements, for example:
- Small stock labels
- Large stock labels
- Warehouse location labels
- Product identification labels
- Alternative customer address label formats
When multiple label templates exist and the default names are no longer in use, users will be prompted to select the appropriate template when printing labels.
When Should You Use Multiple Label Templates?
Creating multiple label templates can be useful when:
- Different products require different label sizes.
- Multiple printers are used within the business.
- Warehouse and retail teams require different label formats.
- Additional product information needs to appear on specific labels.
- Different customer mailing formats are required.
Important Printer Information
Important: Stock labels cannot be printed directly to an Eltron/Zebra LP 2844 printer using standard Khaos Control stock label templates.
This printer requires specialised printer commands, commonly known as ZPL II (Zebra Programming Language), to position text and graphics accurately on the label.
Khaos Control uses this type of printer communication when producing courier labels, but standard stock label printing does not support the required ZPL II formatting for the LP 2844.
If you are using this printer model, alternative label printing methods may be required.
