System Data Stock Extra Postage
Table Of Contents
Introduction
Postage per Stock Item allows you to apply an additional postage charge to individual stock items. This is useful when specific products incur higher delivery costs due to their size, weight or handling requirements.
The postage charge is applied when the item is added to a Sales Order and works alongside the Maximum Extra Postage Surcharge (Net) setting found in System Values | Sales | Delivery. This setting controls the maximum additional postage amount that can be charged to a customer.
For information on how these charges are applied to Sales Orders, see How To: Add Postage per Stock Item in a Sales Order.
Field Definitions
Stock Code
The stock item that the postage surcharge will apply to.
Price (Net)
The net postage charge applied each time the stock item is added to a Sales Order.
Example:
If the value is £2.00, the customer is charged an additional £2.00 postage for each qualifying item.
Max Price (Net)
The maximum postage surcharge that can be charged for the stock item, regardless of quantity ordered.
Example:
| Price (Net) | Max Price (Net) | Quantity Ordered | Postage Charged |
|---|---|---|---|
| £2.00 | £6.00 | 1 | £2.00 |
| £2.00 | £6.00 | 2 | £4.00 |
| £2.00 | £6.00 | 3 | £6.00 |
| £2.00 | £6.00 | 4+ | £6.00 |
In this example, once the surcharge reaches £6.00, no further postage is added for additional quantities of the same item.
