How To: Create a Task/Action From a Comm Log Entry

  1. Open a Customer screen (show me how).
  2. Load the required customer record.
  3. Open the [ Detail | CRM | Communication Log ] tab.
  4. Click the BtnNewTaskAction.jpg button.
  5. Enter the appropriate information in the New Task dialog box:
    • If the user wishes the new task to be associated with a different customer, click , find the customer in the 'Customer Lookup' dialog box and press 'Enter'.
    • Enter a description for the new task in the Description field.
    • If the user wishes to create an associated reminder action to be entered in the diary, check the Associated Reminder Action checkbox.
    • Select the date for the new task/action from the Date drop-down calendar.
    • Enter the time for the new reminder action in the Time drop-down list.
    • Select the user for the new task/action from the User drop-down list.
    • Select the task type for the new task from the Task Type drop-down list.
    • Select the priority for the new task from the Priority drop-down list.
    • Click OK.
  6. Click OK to the information dialog box.
  7. If the user wishes to add a communication log entry for the creation of the task, click Yes to the prompt and follow How To: Create a Customer Communication Log Entry. Otherwise click No.

Note: Task Types and Priorities are set in System Data.
