How To: Hide Columns in a Grid

The user must have permission to be able to configure grids in [ System Data | Users | User Permissions ].

You can hide columns in most Khaos Control grids to simplify the display and remove information that is not required by a user or user profile.

Hide a Column

  1. Open the Khaos Control screen that contains the grid you want to modify.
  2. Open the Grid Menu.
  3. In the Edit Profile For drop-down list, choose whether the change should apply to:
    • The current user only, or
    • A specific user profile.
  4. In the Grid Area, click the column you want to hide.
Note: Columns can only be hidden one at a time.
  5. Tick the Hide Column checkbox.
  6. Click OK to save the grid profile and close the configuration window.

Result

The selected column will no longer be displayed in the grid for the selected user or user profile.

Reset a Grid Layout

If you need to restore hidden columns later, you can use:
  • Reset to Profile - restores the saved profile settings.
  • Reset to Default - restores the standard Khaos Control grid layout.

Tips

  • Hide columns that are not relevant to a user's role to make screens easier to read.
  • If multiple users require the same layout, update the appropriate user profile rather than modifying each user individually.
  • Hidden columns can be restored at any time using the Grid Configuration options.
