Packaging Options
Introduction
The Packaging Options screen allows you to link packaging items to specific couriers and define how those packaging items are used during batch processing.
This helps Khaos Control automatically select the correct courier and packaging configuration based on the packaging stock item assigned to an order.
Before configuring Packaging Options, both packaging stock items and couriers must be set up within Khaos Control.
Prerequisites
Create Packaging Stock Items
Packaging items must be created as stock records and have the Packaging Item option enabled on the:

Packaging Options Grid
Packaging
Select the packaging stock item to be linked to a courier or used for batch processing.
Only stock items configured as Packaging Items are available for selection.
Courier
Select the courier associated with the packaging item.
This field is optional.
If specified, the packaging item can be used to influence courier selection during processing.
Capacity
Defines the default weight of items that can be packed into the packaging item.
This value helps Khaos Control determine the most appropriate packaging during packing and batch creation.
Volume From
Enter the minimum volume range for the packaging item.
Orders with a volume below this value will not match the packaging option.
Volume To
Enter the maximum volume range for the packaging item.
Orders with a volume above this value will not match the packaging option.
Note: If an order falls outside the configured volume range, Khaos Control will not create a batch containing that order. In most cases, Volume To is set to a high value, such as 99999999, to avoid unnecessary restrictions.
Orders Count
Defines the maximum number of packaging items that can be assigned to a batch pick.
This helps control batch sizes and ensures packaging limits are not exceeded.
Packaging Options Context Menu
Apply Value Range
Use Apply Value Range to apply the same value to all selected records within the active column.
Clear Selection
Removes the selection from the currently highlighted row or rows.

Packaging Options can help streamline warehouse operations by ensuring:
- Orders are assigned suitable packaging.
- Couriers can be linked to specific packaging types.
- Batch picks remain within defined volume limits.
- Packing processes remain consistent across the business.
