How To: Setup Sales Nominals by Brand


Sales Nominals by Brand is not enabled by default.

When a Brand is stamped on a Sales Order and it is linked to a Sales Nominal, issuing an invoice for the Order will create journal entries against the linked Nominal, as per the Nominal Account Hierarchy. Brand is third in the hierarchy and can be used when you wish to view the sales in the P&L by different brands. This is very useful for ensuring that sales operatives take the correct payment type for the correct bank when the sale is for a particular Brand.

Create the Sales Nominals

  1. Open an Accounts screen (show me how).
  2. Open the [ Nominal Accounts | Nominal Accounts ] tab.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Create the brand sales nominal:
    1. Enter the Code to be used for the brand nominal.
    2. Add the name of the brand in the description.
    3. Focus in the System Type.
    4. Press F4 to open the lookup.
    5. Select the System Type of Sales.
    6. Focus in the Account Type.
    7. Press F4 to open the lookup.
    8. Select the Account Type of Brand.
      Note: if there is an existing Sales nominal, update the nominal description to the brand name.
  5. Repeat as required from step three to add more brand sales nominals.
  6. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save changes

Map the Sales Nominal

  1. Open a System Data screen (show me how).
  2. In the |[ Sales Order Processing | Branding ] tab.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Add a Brand or use an existing Brand.
  5. Focus in the Sale Nominal column.
  6. Press F4 to open the lookup.
  7. Select the appropriate brand sales nominal from the list.
  8. Click on OK.
  9. Repeat as required to add additional brands and sales nominals.
  10. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save changes
