Packaging Options

The Packaging Options screen allows the user to specify which courier the system should select for a particular type of box or packaging item. Packaging stock items must be set up with the stock option of 'Packaging Item'. ticked in their [ Stock | Details | Options ] screen, see How To: Create a Packaging Stock Item and How To: Set Up Packaging.

The courier must be set up in [ System Data | Sales Order Processing | Couriers ] before they can be selected here, see Creating Couriers in How To: Configure Courier Services and Delivery Rates.

Packaging Options Grid

  • Packaging: the packaging stock item to be linked to the courier.
  • Courier: the courier linked to the packaging stock item (Optional).
  • Capacity: sets the weight of items to pack into the box by default.
  • Volume From: sets the lower value of the volume range for this item of packaging.
  • Volume To: sets the higher value of the volume range for this item of packaging.
    Note: If the volumes are exceeded or not met, the system will not create a batch with the orders in. Volume To numbers are typically very high, e.g. 99999999.
  • Orders Count: the maximum number of specified packaging items that can be assigned to a batch pick.

Packaging Options Context Menu

  • Apply Value Range: allows the user to specify a value that is to be applied to all of the currently selected rows/items for the current column.
  • Clear Selection: deselects the currently selected line(s).
