flashing light bulb!
Although the above options are ticked by default, if you find that your stock screens are taking longer to load than expected, it is highly recommended that both the above options are not ticked. This might be because of the quantity of stock items, your server resources or a combination of both.

  • Retain Stock Lookup Filters: (default=ticked):
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "on" setting.: when the stock lookup is re-opened, it will use the settings and values that were active when it was last closed.
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "off" setting: fields that are populated/not set to their defaults will reset when the stock lookup is next opened.

Relationships

System Values - Stock - General - Relationships

  • Build Stock Value (default=ticked):
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "on" setting.: the system will calculate the stock value and overheads of a build parent from its children every time a build operation is performed. The new stock value and overheads of the newly built item will overwrite whatever current value is. This option does not consider average, standard or last price paid stock costing methods. The same applies to the stock value of unbuilt child items, their values will be overwritten regardless of the stock value costing method.
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "off" setting: the system will not consider the new built value of the item and must be defined by the user. Essentially this works like Standard Pricing.
  • Auto Build Items (default=ticked):
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "on" setting.: stock that is the parent in a build relationship will be automatically built by the system when the item is sold. The quantity being automatically built is based on the amount being sold, plus an extra amount to be kept in stock defined in the field below.
Note: this works with imported sales orders.
      • Auto Build Additional Quantity (default=unticked):
a tri-state checkbox, set to the "on" setting. this quantity will be automatically built by the system in addition to the quantity of the build parent item that has been sold.
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "off" setting: the system will not automatically build stock items, so users will have to manually build stock before it can be sold.
  • Automatically Split Single Item Builds (default=unticked):
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "on" setting.: the system will automatically unbuild a parent stock item and reassign the child stock items to a sales order that could not be fulfilled due to insufficient stock.
Note: this applies to single item builds only. That is builds that contain only one child item.
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "off" setting: build parents are not unbuilt automatically by the system. If you have built items and require the child items to fulfil sales, you will have to unbuild the parent item manually.
  • Skip Relationship Type Check:
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "on" setting.: the system will skip relationship type checks when importing stock.
    • a tri-state checkbox, set to the "off" setting: the system will not skip the checks made with for stock relationships when importing stock.

Note: new systems are normally supplied with (default) values shown.
