How To: See what has actually been picked using Warehouse Control

Warehouse Location Control is not enabled by default.
Training must be completed before using the warehouse functionality.
Please email Development for more information.
Note: there will be additional costs involved if this option is enabled.

When using Warehouse Location Control, you can track stock that has been allocated to sales orders and monitor what has actually been picked from the warehouse.
This information can be viewed in several areas of Khaos Control and can help you understand the current status of stock throughout the fulfilment process.

Where to View Assignment and Picking Information

You can view assigned and picked quantities in the following screens:

Understanding the Assigned Quantity

Assigned shows the quantity of stock that has been allocated to a warehouse picking location for sales orders.
The quantity is updated when stock is assigned through the Sales Invoice Manager.
Depending on your warehouse configuration, stock may be assigned when:
  • The sales order is saved, or
  • The pick ticket is printed (the default behaviour).
An assigned quantity indicates that the stock has been reserved and allocated to an order, but it has not necessarily been physically picked from the warehouse.

Understanding the Picked Quantity

Picked shows the quantity of stock that has been physically picked and confirmed within the warehouse process.
This value is updated when an invoice progresses from the Picking stage to the next active stage within the Sales Invoice Manager workflow.
A picked quantity indicates that stock has already been removed from its picking location and is progressing through the fulfilment process.

Assigned vs Picked

The table below explains the difference between the two values.

ColumnMeaning
AssignedStock has been allocated to a sales order and reserved in a warehouse location.
PickedStock has been physically picked and the order has moved beyond the Picking stage.

Example

If a sales order requires 10 units:
  • Assigned = 10 means all 10 items have been allocated to a picking location.
  • Picked = 0 means the items have not yet been picked.
  • Picked = 10 means all 10 items have been picked and the order has progressed through the warehouse workflow.

Additional Information

  • Assigned stock is reserved for sales orders and may no longer be available for allocation to other orders.
  • Picked stock has already been processed by warehouse staff and is moving through the fulfilment process.
  • Monitoring assigned and picked quantities can help identify orders awaiting picking and stock that is already in progress.
  • These values are particularly useful when investigating stock availability, allocations or warehouse workflow issues
