How To: Assign a Warehouse Location to a Batch Controlled Stock Item

Before You Begin

Important: Do not use the Quarantine warehouse unless the stock is currently held there.

Link a Batch in a Single Stock Location

1. Open the Warehouse screen (show me how).
2. Double-click the required warehouse to open it.

   Note: Select the warehouse where the stock item is located, not the Quarantine warehouse.

3. Press Alt + E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
4. Once a stock item has been linked to the single stock location, the Batch Code cell will be highlighted in red.
5. Select the red Batch Code cell and press Enter.
6. In the Batch Selection dialog, either:
   • Select an existing batch from the list, or
   • Click the Add button to create a new batch.
7. Click OK to save your selection and link the batch to the item.

Link a Batch in a Multi Stock Location

1. Open the Warehouse screen (show me how).
2. Double-click the required warehouse to open it.

   Note: Select the warehouse where the stock item is located, not the Quarantine warehouse.

3. Press Alt + E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
4. Select the required stock location in the upper grid.
5. In the lower grid, click the Add Item button.
6. If the selected item is batch-controlled, the Batch Code cell will be highlighted in red.
7. Select the red Batch Code cell and press Enter.
8. In the Batch Selection dialog, either:
   • Select an existing batch from the list, or
   • Click the Add button to create a new batch.
9. Click OK to save your selection and link the batch to the item.

Additional Information

• The Batch Code field only becomes available when the selected item is configured to use batch tracking.
• Red cells indicate that a batch needs to be selected before the item can be fully linked to the warehouse location.
• You can select an existing batch or create a new one directly from the Batch Selection dialog
