How To: Assign a Warehouse Location to a Batch Controlled Stock Item

Warehouse Batches is not enabled by default.

Note: there will be additional costs involved if this option is enabled.

You can link a batch to an item in the warehouse, the method depends on the type of location, either single stock or multi stock location.

For a Single Stock Location

  1. Open a Warehouse screen (show me how).
  2. Open the desired Warehouse by double clicking on it.
    Note: This is not the Quarantine warehouse but the warehouse where the items are located.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Once the single stock location has a stock item linked to it, the Batch Code column will be red. Focus on the red cell and Enter.
  5. In the Batch Selection dialog either:
    1. Select a batch from those in the grid, or
    2. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button to add a new batch.
    3. Click OK to close the dialog and add the batch.

For a Multi Stock Location

  1. Open a Warehouse screen (show me how).
  2. Open the desired Warehouse by double clicking on it.
    Note: This is not the Quarantine warehouse but the warehouse where the items are located.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Focus on the stock location in the upper grid.
  5. In the lower grid click on the Add item multi stock location button button.
  6. For an item that has a batch the Batch Code column will be red. Focus on the red cell and Enter.
  7. In the Batch Selection dialog either:
    1. Select a batch from those in the grid, or
    2. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button to add a new batch.
    3. Click OK to close the dialog and add the batch.
