How To: Change a Users Password

User passwords can be updated by a user with permission to manage system users. This can be useful when resetting a forgotten password or requiring a user to create a new password at their next login.
Change a User Password
- Open a System Data screen (show me how).
- Double-click [ System Data | Others | Users ].
- Locate the required user.
- Right-click the user and select Edit User Permissions.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Enter a new password by typing over the existing password.
- Tick User must change password at next login if you want the user to create their own password when they next sign in.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Additional Information
- Users with permission to edit users can update other users' passwords.
- A user can update their own details if they have the appropriate permissions.
- Users cannot change their own username.
- Using User must change password at next login is recommended when resetting a password on behalf of another user.
