How To: Create a New User

You can create new user accounts in Khaos Control to control who can access the system and what actions they can perform.
After creating the user, you can configure permissions and assign user profiles to ensure they have access to the correct areas of the system.
Create the User Account
- Open the System Data screen (show me how).
- Double-click [ Others | Users ].
- Press Alt + E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
- Press F3 or click Add to create a new user.
- Enter the user's details.For information about each field, see Users.
- Press Ctrl + S or click Save to create the new user account.
Configure User Permissions
Once the user has been created:
- Locate the user in the grid.
- Right-click the user record.
- Select User Permissions.
- Configure the permissions required for that user.
Permissions determine which areas of Khaos Control the user can access and what actions they can perform.
Assign a User Profile
User profiles allow you to apply a predefined set of permissions and settings to multiple users.
- Right-click the user record.
- Select User Profiles.
- Assign the appropriate profile to the user.
Using profiles can help ensure consistency across users with similar roles.
Additional Information
- User accounts must be created before permissions or profiles can be assigned.
- Permissions can be assigned individually or through a user profile.
- User profiles are useful when multiple users require the same access settings.
- You can adjust permissions and profiles at any time if a user's role changes.
