How To: Reset a Users Password

Table Of Contents

Introduction

If a user has forgotten their password or is unable to log in, you can reset their password and require them to create a new one when they next sign in.
This method allows you to provide a temporary password that can be used once, ensuring the user sets their own password at the next logon.

Resetting a User Password

  1. Open the System Data screen.
  2. Locate the required user.
  1. Right-click the user and select Edit User Permissions from the context menu.
  2. In the password field, enter a temporary password for the user.
  3. Make a note of the temporary password and provide it to the user securely.
  4. Tick User must change password at next logon.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.

What Happens Next?

The user can log in using the temporary password you have provided.
When they sign in, Khaos Control will prompt them to create a new password before they can continue.
This helps maintain account security while restoring access quickly.

Tips

  • Use a temporary password that is easy for the user to enter but difficult for others to guess.
  • Always ask the user to change their password immediately when prompted.
  • Share temporary passwords using a secure method and avoid sending them through unsecured channels.
