System Data Custom Stock Options

Custom Stock Options allow you to add your own stock flags alongside the standard options available on the [ Stock | Detail | Options ] screen.
These options are designed for simple Yes/No information and can help you record additional attributes against stock items that are specific to your business. Examples might include:
  • Production Item
  • Clearance Item
  • Seasonal Product
  • Requires Assembly
  • Hazardous Goods
Once configured, custom stock options can be used in the same way as standard stock options, including filtering within the [ Stock | List ] screen.

When to Use Custom Stock Options

Custom Stock Options are best suited to simple yes/no indicators that help categorise products.
Examples include:
  • Product requires certification.
  • Item is available for export.
  • Product is manufactured in-house.
  • Item is eligible for a specific promotion.
  • Product requires special handling.
If you need to store actual values, text, numbers or multiple selectable options, Stock UDAs will generally provide a more flexible solution.
