System Data Courier Group Restrictions
Table Of Contents
Introduction
Courier Group Restrictions allow you to control which Courier Groups can be selected on manually created or edited Sales Orders. This helps ensure that customer service operators can only choose courier groups that are valid for a specific order based on predefined criteria.
These restrictions only apply to manually created or edited Sales Orders and do not apply to orders imported into Khaos Control.
Restrictions can be configured using one or more of the following criteria:
- Company Class
- Country
- Zone
- Sales Source
- Brand
- Invoice Priority
Selecting a Courier Group on a Sales Order
On a Sales Order, the Courier Group is selected from the Cour.Grp field located beneath the Courier field on the [ Sales Order | Additional ] screen.
Courier Group Restrictions Grid
The Courier Group Restrictions grid allows you to define when a Courier Group can or cannot be selected.

Important: A restriction line cannot be both Allow and Disallow.

What Happens When Restrictions Are Applied?
Invalid Courier Group Selection
If a user selects a Courier Group that is not allowed based on the Sales Order criteria, Khaos Control displays a warning message and resets the Courier Group field.
Sales Order Criteria Changed
If a valid Courier Group has already been selected and one of the matching criteria is later changed, the selected Courier Group may no longer meet the restriction rules.
When this happens:
- Khaos Control checks the updated Sales Order details.
- The Courier Group is revalidated against the configured restrictions.
- If the Courier Group is no longer valid, the system displays a warning message.
- The Courier Group selection is automatically cleared and must be replaced with a valid option.
Additional Information
Courier Group Restrictions are particularly useful when:
- Different customer types require different delivery services.
- Courier availability varies by country or geographical zone.
- Certain brands require dedicated shipping methods.
- Delivery options depend on the source of the order.
- Specific invoice priorities require alternative courier services.
Using restrictions helps reduce selection errors and ensures the correct delivery options are available for each order.
