Warning: Once an ICN code has been assigned to either a stock code or a stock type and used within the system, it cannot be deleted.
Introduction
Intrastat ICN (Item Commodity Number) codes are used to classify goods for Intrastat reporting. Assigning the correct ICN codes to stock items enables Khaos Control to produce accurate Intrastat reports detailing goods imported from or exported to EU countries.
ICN codes are created in the [ System Data | Intrastat ICN ] screen and can be assigned either:
- Directly to individual stock items.
- To specific Level 2 Stock Types.

Intrastat ICN
The Intrastat ICN section contains the master list of commodity codes available for assignment to stock records.
Intrastat ICN Grid
ICN Code
Enter the Intrastat ICN code.
This code is used to classify goods for Intrastat reporting.
Description
Enter a description of the ICN code.
Maximum length: 350 characters
Use a clear description that accurately identifies the type of goods covered by the code.
Sup. Unit
Select the supplementary unit used for reporting the goods, for example:
- Litre
- Cubic Metre
- Kilogram
- Square Metre
Note: Supplementary Units are predefined and can be selected using the F4 lookup.

Apply Value Range
Use Apply Value Range to apply the same value to all selected records within the current column.
Clear Selection
Removes the selection from the currently highlighted row or rows.
Intrastat ICN Stock Types
The Intrastat ICN Stock Types section allows you to associate commodity codes with specific Level 2 Stock Types.
This can simplify setup where all products within a stock type share the same commodity classification.
Once assigned, the associated ICN code can be used when generating Intrastat reports.

Select the applicable Level 2 Stock Type.

Select the Intrastat ICN code from those configured in:

Apply Value Range
Allows the same value to be applied to all selected records within the active column.
Clear Selection
Removes the selection from the currently highlighted row or rows.
Additional Information
Intrastat ICN codes play an important role in maintaining accurate import and export reporting.
You can assign ICN codes at two levels:
- Stock Type level for groups of similar products.
- Individual stock item level where products require a more specific classification.
Stock item ICN codes are maintained within the [ Stock | Detail | Accounting ] tab.
Before creating new ICN codes, ensure they correspond to the correct commodity classifications required for your Intrastat reporting obligations.
